Do I need a large rock collection to join the CMSVP? No, In fact many members join the club with no collection at all. You only need an interest in geology. A recent program that we have added to the club is our "Pebble Pups" youth program for the new generation of geologists and rock hounds.

When and where do you meet? Our meetings are held the first Thursday of each month except June and December at 7:00 pm at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, VA. This year our July meeting will be on July 10th so it will not be the day before a holiday Our June meeting is replaced by a picnic at Sandy Bottom Park. The December meeting is replaced by a pot luck Christmas party/banquet at the normal meeting time. The park closes at sundown but the gate off Big Bethel Road is left open on our meeting nights so people can get to the meeting.
